Multi Level Marketing firms have been under fire of late. The one the captures most of the spotlight is Herbalife ( HLF - Snapshot Report ) which is to focal point of a battle of big bullies Bill Ackman and Carl Ichan. Ackman calls the company a pyramid scheme, while Ichan says that Ackman is a man of low character. Dan Loeb is also in the mix as an owner of 8.9M shares. Ackman is short 20M shares of HLF.
After the close tonight, another MLM firm will report earnings. Usana Health Sciences ( USNA - Snapshot Report ) is expected to report $1.21 in EPS and $166M in revenue. Tomorrow morning Nuskin ( NUS - Snapshot Report ) has a Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.95 in EPS and $560M in revenue.
The question is what will we learn from these two reports that we can apply to HLF?
Will these reports give you the confidence you need to believe or maybe disprove the entire idea of MLM companies?
