Citrix Systems Inc. (CTXS - Analyst Report), a leading provider of virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions has introduced an enterprise mobile management (MDM) suite known as XenMobile MDM. Citrix launched the solution to increase its presence in the growing MDM market.
XenMobile is designed to allow mobile users within the organization to choose from a wide range of devices, use any application and securely access their emails and at the same time enable IT department to efficiently manage their devices according to the security requirements. XenMobile MDM adds to popular Citrix solutions including CloudGateway, Netscaler, GoToMeeting among others and expands its MDM solution portfolio.
The software is highly secured and integrates Microsoft Corporation’s (MSFT) active directory and public key infrastructure systems. XenMobile MDM will allow users to enroll their personal smartphones and tablets while IT administrators can develop and roll out applications to a large group of devices.
Citrix launched the Mobile Solutions Bundle for Enterprise Mobility Management along with XenMobile MDM. Among others, the Mobile Solutions Bundle includes industry leading enterprise MDM, secure email service, web browser and mobile application container for all applications thereby eliminating the need for separate solutions from multiple vendors.
XenMobile is based on the technology from mobile security start-up company Zenprise, which the company acquired recently for an undisclosed amount. Zenprise’s technology provides additional security to the employees’ personal phones and devices from the hackers.
The mobile security market is really booming, based on the demand from large corporations to have solutions that will allow them to manage various devices, data and applications. We believe XenMobile along with the bundled solution will allow Citrix to meet its enterprise customers’ mobility needs from a single vendor.
Citrix is currently working with key partners like Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO), Hewlett Packard Company (HP) and Fujitsu among others to develop a solution that will allow its customers to mobilize its users.
