Kohl’s Corporation ( KSS - Analyst Report ) has launched its new collection partnering famous U.S. designer Derek Lam under the concept DesigNation. The collection is showcased exclusively at Kohl’s stores and the company’s website Kohls.com.
Kohl’s concept collection DesigNation features an exclusive line comprising clothes from premier designers. The limited-period collection is inspired by various international destinations, with a different designer for every new collection launched.
Inspired by his recent trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Derek Lam launched his first swimwear collection. Also, this was the designer’s first association with Kohl’s. The designer has used rich fabrics, bold prints and chic silhouettes for his collection. The retail prices of apparels and swimwear range from $36 to $88.
The third issue of Kohl’s DesigNation collection, featuring Catherine Malandrino, will be up for sale from Oct 2013. The collection was introduced in fall 2012 with designer Narciso Rodriguez and was followed up by Derek Lam. Catherine Malandrino’s collection will be influenced by her recent trip to Paris and will feature apparels especially for women.
In 2012, Kohl’s benefited from several exclusive lines from high-profile designers including Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony, Rock & Republic and Princess Vera Wang. The DesigNation collection is also expected to offer customers with more fashion options and drive top-line growth for the company going forward.
Kohl’s operates 1,146 stores in 49 states and has a strong brand portfolio, which offers moderately priced, exclusive and national brand apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty and home products to consumers.
