            Company Description
        
Berry Petroleum Company is an independent energy company engaged in the production, development, acquisition, exploitation and exploration of crude oil and natural gas.  Berry's principal reserves and producing properties are located in Kern, Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in California.  The company is also investigating several other basins which would establish another core area and provide for additional growth opportunities and diversification of the Company's predominantly heavy oil resource base.
