XL Group plc, through its subsidiaries, is a global insurance and reinsurance company providing property, casualty, and specialty products to industrial, commercial, and professional firms, insurance companies and other enterprises on a worldwide basis. The Company is organized into three operating segments - Insurance, Reinsurance and Life Operations. XL Insurance companies offer a wide range of commercial property, casualty and specialty risk products and services on a global basis. The XL Reinsurance companies provide casualty, property risk (including energy and engineering), property catastrophe, marine, aviation, and other specialty reinsurance on a global basis with business being written on both a proportional and non-proportional basis and in certain limited instances on a direct basis. XL Life Operations segment is not accepting new business. XL Group plc is based in Dublin, Ireland.
