CA Technologies (CA - Free Report) recently announced that one of the leading providers of automated mobile workforce management and service optimization solutions, ClickSoftware has selected CA’s identity and access management (IAM) solutions to secure its cloud-based offering.
ClickSoftware’s solutions enable the dispatch and management of field service technicians to customer locations, through real time communication and scheduling.
ClickSoftware will henceforth use CA’s IdentityMinder, SiteMinder and SiteMinder Federation. IdentityMinder helps to manage user identities thereby providing timely and appropriate access to applications and data services. CA SiteMinder provides single sign-on (SSO) and web access management, which meets growing business needs with ultimate flexibility and security.
This deal will also help ClickSoftware to secure and authorize user access to its cloud.
Earlier this month, CA extended its IAM suite with the launch of XSpectra, which combines CA CloudMinder and Mycroft’s security operations expertise. XSpectra services enable single sign-on, identity management & risk-based authentication along with providing IAM functionality at lower costs.
CA reported cash from operating activities of $11.0 million in 1Q14, down from $570 million in the year-ago quarter. Cash, cash equivalents and investments came in at $2.46 billion, down from $2.78 billion reported in the previous quarter.
CA Inc.’s cloud expansion and restructuring initiatives remain on track. A decent renewal rate, modest cash position and share repurchase activities also appear encouraging. This apart, bookings growth remains robust, supported by both North American and International bookings. The company is also witnessing an increase in license wins.
However, increasing competition from companies like Hewlett-Packard Company (HPQ - Free Report) , Oracle Corporation (ORCL - Free Report) and exposure to Europe remain concerns.
CA currently has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
