•, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN), will hire 6,000 new employees over the next two years in three new logistics centers in Poland to expand its business in Europe  

•    Time Warner Cable Inc (NYSE:TWC) has decided to purchase U.S. fiber network solutions company DukeNet Communications for $600 million.  

•    According to reports by European newspapers, Alcatel Lucent SA (ADR) (NYSE:ALU) will lay off 10,000 employees in order to reduce its costs. This will help the company save 1 billion euros.

•    Shares of BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) climbed 3.7% following news that the company has approached Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) and SAP AG (NYSE:SAP) to sell all or part of the company
