Range Resources has extensive oil and gas resources in the key regions like Marcellus and North Louisiana. Most importantly, the company’s projects are less risky and have been yielding considerable return. The upstream firm recently reported strong first-quarter results on the back of increased production and higher commodity prices realizations. For 2017, Range Resources has set its production guidance at 2.07 Bcfe per day, which translates to annual growth rate of 33–35%. The higher expected production should be supported by huge capital spending budget set by the company for this year. However, the company’s year-to-date share price movement is disappointing. Range Resources’ shares underperformed the Zacks categorized Oil & Gas-U.S Exploration & Production industry during the aforesaid period.
