In an attempt to expand its international footprint Marriott International, Inc. (MAR - Free Report) recently opened a property in Thailand under its flagship brand, Marriott Hotels. The Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa is the first property to be unveiled under the agreement signed between TCC Land Asset World and Marriott in 2013. Per the deal, both the companies would manage seven new hotels across Thailand, of which three are scheduled to open this year.
The 322-room hotel located the scenic seaside town of Hua Hin offers extensive views of the sea from every room and access to the lagoon shaped swimming pool around the resort. There is also an adults-only swimming pool for those looking for privacy. A number of kids' activities are offered at the beach front Kid's Club, kid's pool, water slide and tree house.
The hotel also has numerous local and international gastronomic delights at its five food-and-beverage outlets, Amber Kitchen, Big Fish & Bar, The Siam Bakery, Lobby Lounge and a Pool Bar, which boasts a 180-degree ocean view and especially made cocktails.
Further, the hotel has spacious ballrooms and other function rooms for meetings and social events. The hotel also has a spa and a modern fitness center, operating throughout the day. These offerings would make the resort popular among both business and leisure travelers.
Hua Hin has gained popularity as a vacation getaway both among local and international travelers. Demand from inbound travel from Thai residents has been consistently strong and the number of foreign visitors is expected to increase 5.63% year over year in 2016. Its close proximity to Bangkok as well as its scenic beaches are the main attractions for tourists.
