General Mills Introduces Wellness Products this Summer

General Mills, Inc. (GIS - Free Report) has launched a number of wellness products this summer across the globe.  In order to woo health conscious customers, the food giant is offering new healthier products under snacks, treats and meal options.

Some of the new products launched include Yoplait Greek 2% Whips, Yoplait Petits Filous, Nature Valley Nuts & Seed Crunchy Granola Bars, Nature Valley Chocolate Oat Bites, Annie's organic cereal, and Good Natured Soups by Progresso. These products are perfect for healthy snacking and contain the goodness of natural real ingredients such as whole grains, honey, seeds and nuts.

These products particularly capitalize on the demand for healthy products owing to increasing awareness about eating right in order to stay fit.

These healthy products target the growing number of health conscious consumers who prefer nutritious food with simple ingredients including more protein, fiber and whole grains.

The company has launched mealtime short cuts such as Old El Paso Mini Taco Boat Party Pack, Totino's Pizza Sticks, Parampara Dinner Kits and Good Table Freezer to Plate. These products make eating at home an easier option.  

The company also launched some better-for-you treat options, such as LÄRABAR Bites, Häägen-Dazs Stick Bars, Annie's Refrigerated Dough and Yoki Popcorn. All these products come in various flavors and are perfect for satisfying sweet cravings any time of the day.

The company is launching a selection of new products for teenagers and kids. This includes Yoplait Go BIG yogurt, Nature Valley Backpacker, Yoplait Yop, Pillsbury Hot Breakfasts and Tiny Toast.

With evolving consumer food preferences, in fiscal 2016, General Mills invested in consumer-focused innovation and marketing and accelerated the natural and organic product portfolio to boost sales. The innovation and renovation efforts helped improve revenues from several businesses in fiscal 2016-- mainly cereals and snack bars. The company’s continuous efforts to introduce new products in the fast growing food categories bode well for long-term growth.
