American Express Company (AXP - Free Report) recently rolled out Amex for Developers. This is a new portal designed to provide a single point of access to company APIs (Application Program Interface) and developer resources. Categories like payment services, customized experiences, data intelligence and fraud prevention are likely to be covered under this new offering.

This portal will facilitate developers to test and experiment with American Express’ capabilities. The “sandbox” environment of the portal enables software engineers to easily create, innovate and test new concepts through American Express’s API’s even when they have no access to actual Card Member or merchant data. We believe that this newly launched portal will create huge opportunities for software engineers to innovate using the services offered by American Express. Alongside software engineers, developers are set to benefit from the portal as it would allow them to continue applying their creativity to American  Express’s APIs and other products. Facebook Inc (FB - Free Report) , Twitter Inc (TWTR - Free Report) , Best Buy Co, Inc (BBY - Free Report) are the already leveraged partners of the Amex.
