Stock Market Roundup Dec. 13: Dow Inches Closer to 20,000

While President-Elect Donald Trump’s meeting with the tech industry’s top executives looms, the world waiting to find out what will happen, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is continuing its bull run, closing in on 20,000 for the first time. Since the election, the Dow has gained about 1,600 points, and year-to-date, is up over 14%.

Crossing 20,000 would be a huge milestone for the historic blue chip index, having been around since 1896. The Dow is one of the most widely-followed stock indexes across industries and state lines, and reaching 20,000 would surely catch the public’s eye, boosting perception on the overall economy.
