Missed revenue estimates. The company saw revenue figures of $752 million, missing our consensus estimate of $771 million.

Lionsgate’s revenues jumped 12% to $752 million, bolstered by its TV production end, which now includes Starz. However, the company reported a loss of $31 million in the third quarter, due to costs related to its Dec. 8, 2016 $4.4 billion purchase of the premium cable network.

The company’s TV production revenue increased 39% to $229 million due its part in Netflix’s (NFLX - Free Report) Orange is the New Black. And the company’s most recent hit movie, La La Land, which has grossed $270 million to date and earned a record-tying 14 Academy Award nominations, hasn’t hit the books yet.

“We’re pleased to report increased profits across our film, television and media networks divisions as well as another strong revenue performance from our Television Group,” said Jon Feltheimer, Lionsgate CEO, in its press release.

"We've just completed one of our busiest and most productive quarters ever as we continue to scale our global content platform and integrate Starz into our operations. Our strong film and television offerings are now complemented by our Starz premium network that is becoming a "must-have" value proposition for the digital age."
