Twitter's (TWTR) Q1 Loss Comes in Narrower-Than-Expected

Earnings: Twitter reported adjusted loss per share of 5 cents that came in much narrower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of loss of 16 cents. Twitter’s users grew from 319 million monthly average users (MAUs) at the end of the fourth quarter of 2016 to 328 million MAUs this quarter. DAUs were up 14% year over year.

Revenue: Revenues of $548.3 million beat Zacks Consensus Estimate of $512.1 million Year over year, revenues were down 7.8%.

Key Stats: In the quarter, the company reported loss from operations to the tune of $40.3 million, narrower from $59.1 million reported in the prior year quarter.
