Nokia to Manage Telenor-Telia Joint Mobile Radio Network
Nokia Corporation (NOK - Free Report) has signed a contract with Telenor and Telia to manage their joint mobile radio network in Denmark. The agreement would enable Telia and Telenor to offer customers with better coverage and greater capacity for an enhanced mobile experience.
Per the deal, Nokia will handle all operational and developmental tasks of Telia and Telenor’s radio access network from October this year. Additionally, it will also provide network planning and optimization, besides network implementation and network operations. This move will result in network capacity expansion and a boost to customer experience.
Per Henrik Kofod, CTO, Telia Denmark, Nokia will help Telia and Telenor’s historic network business to lead the market in another five-10 years. Peter Nodbak, Network Director, Telenor Denmark, further adds that Nokia has all thenecessary expertise, capacity and know-how in the requisite area to ensure an optimal network operation and emerge strongly with a future-ready network.
