Putnam Investments managed assets worth more than $177 billion as of January 2018, of which $81 billion is allocated to more than 70 mutual funds, including equity and fixed income funds. Putnam Absolute Return 700 A  seeks returns that will be higher than the annualized return of U.S. Treasury bills by 7% or 700 basis points. This fund attains its investment objective by combining a beta strategy with an alpha strategy. Putnam Absolute Return 700 A returned 3.5% over the last one-year period.

As of December 2017, PDMAX held 810 issues, with 5.37% of its assets invested in FNMA.

Putnam Global Industrial A (PGIAX - Free Report) invests primarily in common stocks, including growth and/or value stocks, of global mid- and large-cap companies that are considered to have strong investment prospects. PGIAX seeks capital growth by investing heavily in securities of companies in the industrials sector.Putnam Global Industrial A has returned 26% over the past year.

Putnam High Yield Y (PHAYX - Free Report) seeks high level of income as well as growth of capital. The fund invests mainly in bonds issued by domestic companies that are rated lower than investment-grade. PHAYX has an expense ratio of 0.79%, compared with the category average of 1.05%.
