Read MoreHide Full Article

The Boeing Company (BA - Free Report) recently clinched a $92.5-million contract to provide engineering, analysis, test and technical support services to the AH-64 Apache, A/MH-6M Little Bird and the H-47 Chinook. The contract was
awarded by the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The entire task related to the deal is expected to be completed by Sep 18, 2023.

Advantages of Boeing’s Rotorcrafts

In recent times, military rotorcrafts are being used as part of the comprehensive mission parameters, due to the integration of multiple advanced capabilities instilled in them. Such specialized rotorcrafts significantly help in improving the performance of U.S. military operations on a global scale by providing enhanced attack, observation and anti-submarine warfare helicopters.

What’s Favoring Boeing?

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) segment, which primarily manufactures military rotorcrafts and other rotary-wing programs, also offers a wide variety of technical expertise, system upgrades and maintenance services. These offerings are pivotal for the effective usage of the rotorcrafts on a frequent basis. Notably, its proven expertise in the field of services has helped the company in clinching the deal. This was also evident from the latest contract acquisition, where Boeing was the only player from the Aeropace-Defense industry to bid.

Additionally, Boeing has been providing scheduled maintenance program analysis and improvements, which help in minimizing an aircraft’s out-of-service time, due to scheduled maintenance program requirements. To attain this, the company works with operators and regulatory agencies for continuous analysis and improvement of fleet maintenance programs. Inevitably, when it comes to providing technical support, such analysis and
improvements along with other services keep Boeing ahead of its competitors.

Also, as per a report by Research and Markets firm, Global military rotorcraft market is expected to see a CAGR of 4.28%, to $30.7 billion by 2028. Such growth can be attributed to the need for replacing aging fleets and enhancing capabilities pertaining to disaster relief operations. This, in turn, will lead to the ever increasing demand for technical and maintenance services, which will significantly favor Boeing, going ahead.

Price Movement

Boeing’s stock has gained 44% in the last 12 months compared with the industry’s growth of 23.8%. The outperformance was primarily led by the robust worldwide demand for its commercial aircraft and military jets.
