Hartford Global Growth HLS Fund Class IA seeks capital appreciation. The fund primarily invests the majority of its assets in a diversified portfolio of common stocks spread across companies, industries and countries. The fund invests in common stocks of growth companies based in the United States and foreign countries alike. The fund may also invest a maximum of 25% in securities of companies that have principal operations in emerging markets or whose securities are traded in the same. HIALX has a three-year annualized return of 16%.

HIALX has an expense ratio of 0.81% as compared with the category average of 1.11%.

The Hartford Small Company Fund Class R5 (IHSUX - Free Report) seeks to provide capital growth. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in common stocks of small-cap companies. According to the fund’s advisor, small-capitalization companies have market capitalizations within the combined range of Russell 2000 and S&P SmallCap 600 Indices. The fund may also invest a minor part of its assets in non-dollar securities and foreign issuers. IHSUX has returned 18.6% in the last three years.

Steven C. Angeli is one of the fund managers of IHSUX since 2000.

Hartford Quality Value Fund Class I aims for long-term capital gain. The fund mostly invests its assets in common stocks of U.S. companies. The fund’s sub-advisor selects the funds’ investments by using fundamental research in order to identify high-quality organizations that dividends and have sustainable operating characteristics. The fund mostly invests in large-cap companies that have similar characteristics as those included on the Russell 1000 Value Index. HVOIX has three-year annualized returns of 10.6%.

As of February 2019, HVOIX held 72 issues, with 4.54% of its assets invested in Bank of America Corporation.

Hartford Core Equity Fund Class R5 (HGITX - Free Report) aims for capital growth. In general, the fund invests the majority of its assets in common stocks. The fund’s portfolio seeks to be diversified by company and industry. Although the fund may invest across a wide range of market capitalizations, but the fund’s advisor focuses on large-cap companies that have capitalizations similar to S&P 500 companies. HGITX has three-year annualized returns of 13%.
