Southwest (LUV) to Begin New Services for Holiday Travel

Southwest Airlines Co. (LUV - Free Report) recently announced several fight services to attract customers ahead of the winter holiday season. As a result, the carrier extended its bookable flight schedule through Jan 5, 2020.

Domestic Flights

Southwest will resume its previously operated service between Baltimore/Washington and Greenville-Spartanburg, beginning Nov 3, 2019. The route was earlier served in 2016.

Additionally, the carrier will initiate a Saturday-only service between Boston and Ft. Lauderdale, starting Nov 9.

The Dallas, TX-based carrier recently received extra slot allocations from the City of Long Beach owing to which, it will increase its connectivity from the city. Each of the services is set to be launched on Oct 1.

The airline will offer four daily flights between Long Beach and Oakland, Oct 1 onward. During the period between Oct 1 and Oct 31, the carrier will provide customers with extra flights on Saturdays and Sundays, connecting the two places.

Moreover, Southwest will operate flights four times a day during the weekdays between Long Beach and San Jose. It will also connect the two places with three flights on Saturdays and Sundays. The carrier will offer the same number of flights on weekdays and weekends between Long Beach and Sacramento.

Further, the carrier will offer two flights per day during the weekends between Long Beach and Las Vegas. During October, the airline will also connect the two places with one roundtrip a day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

In the same month, this low-cost airline will connect Long Beach and Denver as well with one roundtrip a day on Saturdays and Sundays.

International Flights

Beginning Nov 3, 2019, the carrier will resume its daily service between Austin and Cancun.

The airline will also resume seasonal service on Saturdays between Houston (Hobby) and Aruba; Nashville and Cancun; Milwaukee and Cancun; San Antonio and Cancun; Baltimore/Washington and Liberia; Costa Rica, Baltimore/Washington and San Jose; Costa Rica, Denver and Belize as well as between Chicago (Midway) and San Jose del Cabo/Cabo San Lucas. These operations will begin on Nov 9.
