Equinix Expands Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's Global Access

Read MoreHide Full Article

Equinix, Inc. (EQIX - Free Report) continuously thrives to help businesses advance their digital transformation journeys and gain a competitive edge. In recent efforts, the company strengthened its collaboration with Oracle by expanding Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s global reach across five continents. This will enable the companies’ mutual customers to seamlessly and privately connect to Oracle Cloud on Platform Equinix.

Further, by establishing the direct connection, enterprises can create a high-speed, low-latency access, in turn, helping maximize benefits of their Oracle deployment.

In fact, global market expansions in São Paulo, Tokyo, Sydney, Toronto and Zurich will offer direct access to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect using Equinix Cloud Exchange Fabric (ECX Fabric). Notably, ECX Fabric is an on-demand, SDN-enabled interconnection service that enables customers to globally connect to clouds and network providers.

In addition, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect via ECX Fabric facilitates enterprises to migrate and operate applications and data workloads to Oracle Cloud efficiently, while reducing costs and delivering consistent performance.

At present, Equinix offers Oracle FastConnect in six locations, including Amsterdam, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Sydney and Washington, DC/Northern Virginia through its IBX data centers. Also, Equinix offers a higher number of private onramps to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect than any other data-center provider in 32 other metros globally.

Moreover, as part of the collaboration, Oracle customers accessing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in the Phoenix data-center region can now directly connect from Equinix’s IBX data centers in Los Angeles to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure FastConnect through ECX Fabric.

Interconnection between enterprises, and cloud and IT providers is projected to soar 98% annually through 2021. This will support companies when the firms roll out digital services and transfer existing workload to third-party cloud platforms.

Hence, amid rising complexities of digital transformation and higher demand for local services, Equinix’s efforts to provide efficient and scalable connectivity to hybrid cloud service are a strategic fit.
