Read MoreHide Full Article
Ford Motor Company (F - Free Report) is set to expand one of its marquee models, the Mustang muscle car, with an all-electric sport utility vehicle, Mustang Mach-E SUV. The SUV is a sleek hatchback that delivers spirited ride and handling. It features the all-new infotainment system, with the latest connected vehicle technology.

Mustang Mach-E will be supported by permanent magnet motors, available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive in standard and extended-range battery variants. While the extended-range rear-wheel drive will have Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-estimated range of at least 300 miles, the all-wheel-drive configurations will target 332 horsepower and 417 lb.-ft. of torque.

Additionally, Mustang Mach-E will be available with the new Flexira aluminum calipers from Brembo, in order to preserve the use of a fixed caliper while being equipped with dimensions of a floating caliper. The GT Performance version of the model enables drivers to experience an exciting and comfortable ride owing to the MagneRide damping system and adaptive suspension technology.

The company is also trying to slash costs by producing Mach-E in Mexico, where labor costs are low. The model is set for a late 2020 launch, with prices starting at $43,895.

Ford, after the failure of its Focus EV model in 2018, has been ramping up production of electric vehicles which will likely be the future of the auto industry.
