Rockwell Collins’ second-quarter fiscal 2016 earnings surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate and improved year over year. However, quarterly revenues missed estimates and also declined from the year-ago quarter due to lower sales across the commercial and government systems segments. Moreover, dependence on international sales, a highly competitive market and high exposure to fixed-price contracts raise concerns. On the positive side, the company’s stable financial position, focus on research & development, and systematic investments in inorganic growth programs should enable it to achieve its target for fiscal 2016.
