Embraer reported disappointing results in the first quarter of 2016, with the company slipping into a loss. However, revenues beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate and improved year over year thanks to higher deliveries in the Executive Jets and Commercial Aviation segments. The company’s order backlog was also up 7.4% year over year. Embraer’s total deliveries in first-quarter 2016 totaled 44, up 37.5%. The company continues to lead the 70- to 130-seat commercial jet market and sees more room for growth given rising air traffic. On the flip side, Embraer operates in a highly competitive commercial aircraft manufacturing industry, which demands regularly investments in new technologies to meet growing demand in the commercial jet manufacturing market.
