Nasdaq’s second-quarter 2016 earnings outperformed the Zacks Consensus Estimate and also improved from that of the prior-year quarter. The stellar performance came on the back of strong operational activities, strong listings and IPOs. The company achieved an all-time high of bottomline or earnings with an EPS of $0.91, which is also a second quarter record. It represents a 10% year-on-year increase, and underscores our ability to deliver double-digit shareholder returns through EPS growth and dividend yield. Nasdaq remains focused on growth through acquisitions and organic initiatives that enable entry and cross-selling opportunities into new markets at a low-cost and highly-flexible platform. The company is also improving leverage that supports accelerated capital deployment, thereby boosting investor confidence. However, intense competition, currency fluctuations and pricing continue to weigh on Nasdaq’s performance.
