Tyson Foods’ third-quarter fiscal 2016 earnings were above the Zacks Consensus Estimate as well as the year-ago tally by 13.1% and 51.0%, respectively. Higher margins drove the profits. Sales topped the estimates and gained 6.6% year over year backed by higher volume. Overall, the company’s continuous innovation and dominance in the chicken segment is commendable.The Hillshire Brands acquisition also boosted sales of prepared foods.this acquisition is very old now. However, the sluggish beef segment remains a concern. The company’s exports have been suffering over the past few quarters mainly due to macroeconomic headwinds.
