Toyota recorded a year-over-year decline in earnings in first-quarter fiscal 2017. However, earnings comfortably surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate. Consolidated revenues also decreased year over year but outpaced the Zacks Consensus Estimate. The company focuses on product development, capacity increases and expansion in emerging markets.
