Harris CapRock Communications Inc, a part of Harris Corporation (HRS - Free Report) has extended its collaboration with satellite service provider O3b Networks Limited to provide advance communication solution to two of the Royal Caribbean Cruises limited (RCL - Free Report) most innovative cruise ship.
This is not the first time the two are collaborating as Harris has previously joined hands with the O3b Networks to implement and maintain O3b Maritime broadband solutions in the Royal Caribbean cruise ships.
The collaborative solution will combine O3b’s unique, low-latency Medium Earth Orbit satellite fleet and the technical expertise of Harris CapRock’s maritime systems and will be installed in Royal Caribbean’s cruise line ships Allure of the Seas and Oasis of the Seas.
Harris CapRock will install stabilized antenna systems and will provide managed service that will allow Royal Caribbean to offer high quality bandwidth solution to its passengers. We believe the collaborative solution will add value and enrich passenger experience by providing optimized internet and broadband services throughout their voyage.
In May 2012 Harris CapRock won a 5 year contract from Cruising company to provide communication services to its fleet of 35 ships. It includes ships of the Royal Caribbean International Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises brand.
Recently, Harris declared its second-quarter fiscal 2013 results wherein earnings per share beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate. In the reported quarter, the Integrated Network Solution segment, which includes Harris CapRock Communication, declared a 3% annualized revenue improvement.
