Over 70 companies are expected to report earnings this week. That doesn't seem like many considering that over 1,000 companies report in just one week at the "peak" of the earnings season.

But don't let the low number fool you. There are plenty of prominent names expected to report this week, especially in the retail industry, and several have outstanding earnings surprise charts.

It's Hard to Beat Every Quarter

It's not easy beating every quarter for years. It takes discipline and good management to keep it going over a long period of time. It also takes good communication and finesse with the covering analysts.

These companies have been beating even amidst an upheaval in the retail industry. Through good and bad times, they've been beating.

Who has the best earnings chart this week?

One chart, in particular, stands out.

And it may not be who you think.

The Best Earnings Chart This Week

A bunch of retailers are reporting this week, including big names like Lululemon and Ulta Beauty.

While they both have quality charts, they don't quite reach to the level of "the best."

Here's Lululemon's (LULU - Free Report) 5-year earnings surprise chart.

It's an impressive track record, with just 2 misses over that period but it still doesn't rise to the level of "the best."

Here's Ulta Beauty (ULTA - Free Report) . It has only missed once since Zacks data began in 2015.

Shares are pressuring that 5-year high again ahead of the number. Again, this is pretty impressive but not quite up to the crown.

But take a look at the gorgeous chart of Ollie's Bargain Outlet Holdings, Inc. (OLLI - Free Report) .

Not only has it beat every quarter since its 2015 IPO, but the shares have had a tremendous run. They are up 353% since the IPO.

Impressive.

The east coast retailer now has 300 stores and continues to expand.

Will the shares resume their breakout after this week's earnings report?

Just because a company beats the estimate in the past, doesn't mean it will continue to do so in the future. But these three retailers are those you'll want to keep on your watch list this week.

[In full disclosure, the author of this article owns shares of ULTA in her personal portfolio.]

Zacks Names "Single Best Pick to Double"

From thousands of stocks, 5 Zacks experts each have chosen their favorite to skyrocket +100% or more in months to come. From those 5, Director of Research Sheraz Mian hand-picks one to have the most explosive upside of all.

It’s a little-known chemical company that’s up 65% over last year, yet still dirt cheap. With unrelenting demand, soaring 2022 earnings estimates, and $1.5 billion for repurchasing shares, retail investors could jump in at any time.

This company could rival or surpass other recent Zacks’ Stocks Set to Double like Boston Beer Company which shot up +143.0% in little more than 9 months and NVIDIA which boomed +175.9% in one year.
