Irving, TX-based ExxonMobil Corporation (XOM - Free Report) is the world’s largest publicly traded oil company, engaged in oil and natural gas exploration and production, petroleum products refining and marketing, chemicals manufacture, and other energy-related businesses. The company divides its operations into three segments: Upstream, Downstream and Chemicals.

Earnings: ExxonMobil beats on earnings. Earnings per share came in at 63 cents, above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 60 cents.

Revenue: Revenues misses expectations. Revenues of $58,677 million were lower than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $60,562 million.

Key Stats:Production averaged 3.811 million barrels of oil-equivalent per day (MMBOE/d), down 2.7% year over year. Liquid production fell 5.2% year over year to 2.211 million barrels per day. Natural gas production, however, was 9.601 MMCF/d (millions of cubic feet per day), up slightly 0.8% from the year-ago period.

ExxonMobil's refinery throughput averaged 4.4 million barrels per day (MMB/D), down 2.1% from the year-earlier level.
