First, the hosts discussed the new reports that Amazon (AMZN - Free Report) is working on Alexa-compatible smart glasses. Apparently, the e-commerce giant has hired several members of the Google Glass team and wants the glasses to serve as an earbuds-free housing for its AI assistant. Sources have also said Amazon plans to release an Echo-branded home security camera soon.

Maddy and Ryan also mentioned Amazon in the context of another of this week’s biggest stories: the bankruptcy of Toys ‘R’ Us. This iconic toy retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday night and will now begin its restructuring process. Interestingly enough, Amazon is not the only culprit to blame here, and the hosts dig into the other reasons behind the company’s mountain of debt.
