Bottom 5 Performing Dow Stocks (HPQ, XOM, CVX, IBM, MRK)

Dec 28, 2012 (Fast Lane via COMTEX) -- Below are the bottom five performing stocks in the Dow Jones Industrials Index. These companies should be watched over the next several days for further underperformance.

Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) is the worst performer, falling 2.35% today, below the Dow's decline of 0.54% thus far. Just behind are shares of Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM), which is down 1.39%.

Rounding out the list of decliners are shares of Chevron (NYSE:CVX) and International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM), which are down 1.33% and 0.87%, respectively. Finally we have Merck (NYSE:MRK) which is lower by 0.87% on this day.

Hewlett-Packard Company provides imaging and printing systems, computing systems, and information technology services for business and home. The Company's products include laser and inkjet printers, scanners, copiers and faxes, personal computers, workstations, storage solutions, and other computing and printing systems. Hewlett-Packard sells its products worldwide.

Despite it's recent performance, Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) has potential upside of 2.8% based on a current price of $13.71 and analysts' consensus price target of $14.09. The stock should find initial resistance at its 50-day moving average (MA) of $13.77 and further resistance at its 200-day MA of $18.81.
