Fund Description
|
The fund was incepted in November 1985 and is managed by U.S. Global Investors, Inc. The fund seeks long-term growth of capital plus protection against inflation and monetary instability. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its assets in equity securities of companies principally engaged in the exploration for, mining and processing of precious minerals such as gold, silver, platinum, and diamonds. The fund also invests in long-term equity options called LEAPS (long-term equity anticipation securities). Dividends and capital gains, if any, are distributed annually in December.
