Fund Description
The fund was incepted in October 1976 and is managed by Oppenheimer Funds Group. The fund seeks a high level of current interest income exempt from federal income taxes as is available from investing in municipal securities, while attempting to preserve capital. The fund invests mainly in municipal securities that pay interest exempt from federal individual income tax. These primarily include municipal bonds (which are long-term obligations), municipal notes (short-term obligations), interests in municipal leases, and tax-exempt commercial paper. The fund declares dividends on each business day and pays them monthly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed annually in December.
