DeVry Education Group, Inc. (DV - Free Report) has introduced a new workforce solution team, DeVryWORKS.
DeVryWORKS offers customized learning initiatives that focus on upgrading the skills of the workforce, thereby meeting the demand of organizations. It offers learning solutions, which help retain workers. It also helps in talent acquisitions from DeVry’s large pool of students and alumni, including military candidates. DeVryWORKS will help the education company connect with employers, which will eventually help DeVry to understand the skills and level of expertise required in the job market. This will help DeVry introduce new programs that have strong demand in the market.
DeVry has undertaken a transformation strategy for DeVry University, which has been reporting weak enrollment numbers for a very long time. The company’s strategy includes the improvement of both student experience and affordability of the programs, and strategically marketing DeVry University. The company intends to improve students’ experience by introducing new programs and improving its content and outcome. The company also acquires education institutions, which strengthen DeVry’s portfolio.
On May 24, DeVry Education Group announced that its subsidiary, Becker Professional Education has entered into an agreement to acquire the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) for $330 million. The acquisition is expected to close in Jul 2016, provided the regulatory requirements are met.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen DeVry’s portfolio by adding a career oriented program that has strong demand in the job market. Also, it will extend Becker’s geographic presence as about 40% of ACAMS’ revenues are generated outside Becker’s global footprint. These acquisitions and workforce solutions offer long-term growth opportunities for DeVry.
DeVry carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
