Kellogg Company (K - Free Report) will launch its first cereal café Kellogg's NYC in the New York City, on Monday, Jul 4. This one of a kind café will serve Kellogg's cereals in a very innovative style.
Kellogg has partnered with some of the famous names in the food industry, Anthony Rudolf, Christina Tosi and Sandra Di Capua of Journee, to create exciting variations of Kellogg's cereals. The restaurant menu will include breakfast items, evening snacks and ice cream treats.
Kellogg's NYC café’s menu will offer milk-based creations such as Pistachio Lemon, Berry Me in Green Tea, and The Chai Line. It will also serve ice cream-based creations such as Life in Color, Honey Buzz and You're Cracklin' Me Up.
These dishes will be made from Kellogg's various cereals, such as Special K Original, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Froot Loops, Crispix and Honey Smacks. The chefs have used various other ingredients such as pistachios, lemon zest, thyme, fresh strawberries, green tea powder, fresh peaches, chai tea powder, honey, toasted pecan, and banana chips to give a twist to this breakfast staple. Guests at the restaurant can also customize these offerings with any number of toppings. They can also choose from various juices, milk and coffee. The café will offer dine in or carry out options and the prices of the food items range from $6 to $8.
The opening of this all-day breakfast junction is a strategic move for the company, given the increasing demand for all day breakfast. With the growing importance of breakfast as the first meal of the day and focus on healthy snacking throughout the day, health conscious customers can consider these relatively healthier options.
Kellogg has been struggling to grow sales over the past two years mainly due to weak performance in its developed market cereals and U.S. snacks businesses. In this regard, the company has invested in brand building, in-store capabilities, product and packaging innovation as well as reformulation of several existing products. The recent launch of Kellogg's NYC café will promote Kellogg cereals in a new format, thereby its diversifying its revenue stream.
Kellogg carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
