Online retail giant Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN - Free Report) has announced the premiere of “The Stinky & Dirty Show”, a brand-new Amazon Original Kids Series on Sep 2, 2016 through Prime Video. This forms a part of its pilot development process started last year.
Though the initial launch targets the U.S. and UK audience, Amazon intends to launch the series in Austria, Germany and Japan during the end of this year. The pilot episode of the series is available for download as well as streaming at the moment with nine additional episodes scheduled for the next month.
The Stinky & Dirty Show
The series is based on the book “I Stink!” written by Kate and Jim McMullan. The series revolves around the adventures and mishaps overcome by the two best buddies Stinky, a garage truck and Dirty, a backhoe loader.
A part of the five pilots that were ordered in Aug 2014, “The Stinky & Dirty Show” debuted in January last year. Notably the pilot episode of the series received rave reviews from viewers with 86% of the audience giving a 5-star rating, taking the overall rating to 4.8 stars.
Celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Andy Richter, Joan Cusack, Jane Lynch and Wallace Shawn have rendered their voices for the series.
