Nordstrom (JWN) Expands: Opens 2nd Full-line Store in Austin

Nordstrom Inc. (JWN - Free Report) seems to be an epitome of balanced growth as it continues to expand its U.S. footprint while also steadily gaining exposure to the Canadian market. Recently, the company announced the opening of its second full-line store in Austin. It already operates a full-line store in Austin at Barton Creek Square Mall since 2003.

The new store is located at Domain NORTHSIDE in Austin, TX. It features the company’s latest interior and exterior design concepts while accommodating 2 fooding options and improved beauty experience.

The two-level, 127,500 square feet store is designed to feature 5 shoe departments, expansive cosmetics and accessories areas, and a comprehensive offering of popular brand names for women, men and children.

The popular shoes and handbags brands available at the store include Kate Spade New York, Tory Burch and Rebecca Minkoff. Additionally, a variety of women fashion brands available at the store are collections from designers like Alice & Olivia, Tory Burch, Veronica Beard, Madewell, Topshop and J. Crew. Further, exclusive beauty brands will be at the disposal of the Austin community including MAC, Bobbi Brown, Aesop, Space NK, Jo Malone and Le Labo perfumerie.

As an added attraction, the customers in Austin will now enjoy a new At Home department, offering gifts and home décor items, including Austin-native brands Son of a Sailor, Misha Blaise Art and Satchel & Sage.

Apart from the popular brands, the Domain NORTHSIDE store offers the company’s newest design concepts that include natural light, wood finishes and other modern updates. The store also renders special services like Curbside Pickup and Same Day Delivery, Buy Online Pick Up In-Store service counter with trial options for customers, in-store alterations and tailoring, certified bra and shoe fitters as well as styling services offered by a Personal Stylist.

Additionally, 2 food options like Bazille, a full-service bistro-style restaurant; and the Ebar, offering handcrafted coffee drinks and grab-and-go food choices, further enhance shopping experience at the store.

The launch of the store kicked off with a Beauty Bash just outside its entrance. At the bash, customers got a sneak peek at the new products and trends from top beauty brands while enjoying the complimentary skincare consultations, demonstrations and makeup tips from Nordstrom’s beauty and fragrance experts. Moreover, the first customers to walk through the doors received a warm welcome from more than 300 employees.

Nordstrom’s focus on store expansion is evident from the series of Rack store openings over the years and its recent expansion in Canada. This Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) company’s latest store openings indicate the company’s commitment toward strengthening its network with the aim of driving top-line growth.

Nordstrom currently operates 338 outlets across 39 states. Its portfolio includes 122 full-line stores across the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada, 2 Jeffrey boutiques, 208 Nordstrom Racks and 1 clearance store.
