Read MoreHide Full Article

The stock market has been on a roll in 2016, and despite some international financial crises—remember that little thing called Brexit?—stocks have reached incredible highs this year. The Dow Jones is inching closer and closer to 20,000 for the first time ever in its 120-year history, and the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq have seen nice boosts as well.

One of the most successful stocks this year has been Nvidia Corp. (NVDA - Free Report) , a top manufacturer of graphics processor technologies for computing, consumer electronics, and mobile devices. Nvidia can point to the incredible popularity of its high-speed graphics products among gamers and game developers for its success in 2016, as its ability to hold off rivals still remains unchallenged.

NVDA, a #1 (Strong Buy) on the Zacks Rank, has gained almost 193% year-to-date, and shows no signs of slowing down. For the current year, the graphics processor expects year-over-year sales growth of 36.58% and year-over-year earnings growth of 125.19%, with an average earnings surprise of almost 25%. Nvidia is also in a strong industry. Semiconductor-General is in the top 6% of all industries ranked on the Zacks Industry Rank, and has returned just over 30% year-to-date.

Going forward, Nvidia will only continue to grow exponentially, as video game technologies, like virtual and augmented reality, become much more utilized in everyday consumer products.
