In the last trading session, U.S. stocks demonstrated an encouraging performance thanks to the upbeat economic data. Among the top ETFs, investors saw SPY gain 0.41%, DIA rise 0.26% and QQQ increase 0.16% on the day.
Two more specialized ETFs are worth noting as both saw trading volume that was far outside of normal. In fact, both these funds experienced volume levels that were more than double their average for the most recent trading session. This could make these ETFs the ones to watch out for in the days ahead to see if this trend of extra-interest continues:
This U.S. dollar ETF was in focus yesterday as nearly 311,000 shares moved hands. This compares to an average trading volume of 69,600 shares and came as USDU gained 0.8% in the session.
The big move came in as the dollar regained its strength on the Fed rate hike. Additionally, Trump’s win in the U.S. presidential election has increased inflationary expectations has also boosted the greenback. In the past one-month period, USDU was up approximately 2.6%.
This Australia ETF was in focus in the last trading session as around 7 million shares moved hands compared with an average of roughly 1.9 million shares a day. We also saw some price movement as EWA lost nearly 0.7% in the last session.
The movement can be blamed to the slew of downbeat economic data that can have a big impact on the Australian stocks like what we find in this ETF portfolio. In the last one-month period, EWA was up about 1.5%. The fund has a Zacks ETF Rank of 3 or ‘Hold’ rating with a Medium risk outlook.
