Read MoreHide Full Article

In a bid to offer an innovative digital experience, online giant Amazon.com Inc. ((AMZN - Free Report) ) has for the first time announced a Digital Day sale on Dec 30.

The retailers will extend exciting offers across its digital archive - TV shows, movies, music, apps, games, and many more.

Deep Discounts to Lure Shoppers

On the last weekday of 2016, Amazon will offer more than 1000 digital items at attractive discounts to tap those consumers who received gadgets as gifts from their closed ones during the holidays.  The sale commences at 12:00 AM PST on Friday morning and ends at 11:59 PM.

The company stated that that it will offer hundreds of TV shows, movies, apps, songs, e books and other software at 50% off and will lower the prices of the top music albums to $5 and kids mobile games to 99 cents.

Deals will also be available on the company’s music streaming service and the book app for kids called Amazon Rapids.

The best thing about this event is that there is no chance of any inventory running out.

Bottom Line

Going digital is the new buzzword as more and more consumers are resorting to online shopping and digital experience for the convenience and cost effectiveness it offers.

This is the first time that the e-commerce giant will organize such an event in a bid to boost holiday sales and gain more Prime members. This new trick might work as all generations are increasingly taking to digital products.

Amazon is practically turning everything it touches to gold. We expect the Digital Day to work in favor of Amazon and boost its revenues much like Prime Day. The company is well poised to capture the growing market and is devising newer ways to attract consumers.

Shares of Amazon have been steadily treading higher on a year-to-date basis. The stock has returned 14.24% compared with the Internet Commerce industry’s gain of 7.31%.
