Preview The Super Bowl Commercials That Are Already Out

Read MoreHide Full Article

Picture this: you wake up next Monday tired, hungover, and disappointed that you failed to win any money on Super Bowl Squares for the fifth year in a row. This is not much of a fantasy. This is you after every Super Bowl. What is worse? This year you missed the commercial everyone is talking about.

Yeah, you heard me right. As you drag yourself into the office, Glen from Accounting and Linda from HR are already at the watercooler, chatting about their favorite advertisements from last night. What is that? Budweiser had a solid an amazing 60-second spot about the founder of the company? Damn, you must have missed that while on your way to the fridge for the 15th time.

Have no fear! The ever-evolving media industry has led to more and more companies releasing their Super Bowl ads before game itself. With a 30-second commercial reportedly going for more than $5 million for this year’s big game, companies are trying to get the most bang for their buck by pairing their Super Bowl spots with massive online and social media campaigns.

Check out some of the commercials that are already out:

Budweiser

This touching ad from Anheuser-Busch (BUD - Free Report) presents the story of Adolphus Busch, the German-born co-founder of the brewery. Busch immigrated to the United States and would eventually start the company with his father-in-law, Eberhard Anheuser, who is also featured in the commercial.

Ford

The Ford Motor Company (F - Free Report) hits us with a 90-second ad that will apparently appear just before kickoff. The commercial depicts many of life’s everyday inconveniences before reminding us that “nobody likes to be stuck” and highlighting the company’s many new ways of helping us “move through life.”

FIJI Water

This 30-second commercial will be the first Super Bowl spot from FIJI Water, an “earth friendly” water company that bottles its H2O at the source on the island that it owes its name.

Febreze

This humorous spot from Febreze—owned by Proctor & Gamble (PG - Free Report) —describes the damage the halftime break can have on one’s bathroom. I guess it is best to be prepared for the worst with the nice scents of Febreze…? There is also an extended version of this commercial online.

Lexus

Lexus, a Toyota Motors (TM - Free Report) brand, shows off its all-new LC 500 with this upbeat spot that features one of those crazy dancers that can contort their body in seemingly-painful ways.

Mercedes-Benz

Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz brand is known for being a luxury choice, and the company apparently sparred no expense to provide some star power in this commercial. The spot features Peter Fonda and is directed by the Coen Brothers.

Wix.com

Website creation platform Wix.com (WIX - Free Report) also brought the star power with this ad featuring Jason Statham and Gal Gadot. The two stars play the role of secret agents who, through some fault of their own, completely destroy a man’s restaurant.

Intel

It has to be pretty good to be Tom Brady. The New England Patriots quarterback will not only play in the Super Bowl, but he will also feature in this commercial from Intel (INTC - Free Report) . The spot highlights how cool Intel’s new 360 Technology can make things look… especially if you are Tom Brady.

Mr. Clean

Proctor & Gamble is not shying away from shelling out the big bucks this year. Check out this commercial from its Mr. Clean brand, featuring an all-too realistic hallucination of the famous mascot helping out with some chores.

Squarespace.com

The entertaining and fascinating John Malkovich plays a frustrated version of himself in this short sport for website platform Squarespace. Just a heads up, you do not want to be the guy who owns JohnMalkovich.com when he comes looking for it.

Bottom Line

You used to have to stay tuned in to every second of the game and its commercial breaks if you did not want to miss anything. Now, you can be prepared for the ads by watching them ahead of time. Life is pretty crazy.
