Alere (ALR) Shows Strength: Stock Adds 15.9% in Session
Alere Inc. was a big mover last session, as the company saw its shares jump almost 16% on the day. The upside was driven by the announcement of an amended merger agreement with Abbott Labs. Also, this led to far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. This continues the recent uptrend for the company as the stock is now up over 27% in the past one-month time frame.
The company has seen no positive or negative estimate revision in the past 30 days. Also, its Zacks Consensus Estimate remained unchanged over the same timeframe. Yesterday’s price action is encouraging though, so make sure to keep a close watch on this firm in the near future.
Alere currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
