Yum! Brands (YUM) Tops Q1 Earnings & Revenue Estimates

Read MoreHide Full Article

Louisville, KY-based Yum! Brands, Inc. (YUM - Free Report) is a leading multi-branding company which offers consumers more choice and convenience at one outlet. Its brands - KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell - are regarded as the global leaders of the chicken, pizza and Mexican-style food categories.

The spin-off of the company’s China business into an independent, publicly-traded company on Oct 31, 2016, somewhat deterred the story company’s growth.

Nonetheless, efforts to subsidize the effects of the spin-off by employing greater focus on the development of its three iconic global brands, increasing its franchise ownership, and creating a leaner, more efficient cost structure bodes well.

Investors should note that the consensus estimate for YUM has been moving slightly downwards over the last 60 days. Meanwhile, YUM’s earnings have been mostly strong over the past few quarters. In fact, the company’s earnings surpassed/met the Zacks Consensus Estimate in the last four quarters, with an average beat of 6.38%. Revenues were almost in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate in the last quarter. However, prior to that, revenues had fallen short of the same in the trailing three quarters.

With battery prices plummeting and charging stations set to multiply, one company stands out as the #1 stock to buy according to Zacks research.

It's not the one you think.
