Our Take
Amazon’s growing offerings in the original program series is expected to help the company in diversifying its online content and making a mark for among other streaming content providers.
We believe that these initiatives will be incrementally beneficial to the company, helping it to add new Prime subscribers and retain the older ones in the U.S. as well as in the international market, going forward.
Moreover, these will help the company withstand stiff competition from other service providers such as Netflix, Inc. (NFLX - Free Report) , HBO, Hulu and Comcast, among others.
Currently, Amazon has a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell). Some better-stocks in the broader technology sector are Alibaba Group Holding Limited (BABA - Free Report) and Autobytel Inc. , both sporting a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 Rank stocks here.
Alibaba Group Holding Limited delivered a positive earnings surprise of 20.53%, on average, in the trailing four quarters.
Autobytel Inc. delivered a positive earnings surprise of 41.98%, on average, in the trailing four quarters.
Today's Stocks from Zacks' Hottest Strategies
It's hard to believe, even for us at Zacks. But while the market gained +18.8% from 2016 - Q1 2017, our top stock-picking screens have returned +157.0%, +128.0%, +97.8%, +94.7%, and +90.2% respectively.
And this outperformance has not just been a recent phenomenon. Over the years it has been remarkably consistent. From 2000 - Q1 2017, the composite yearly average gain for these strategies has beaten the market more than 11X over. Maybe even more remarkable is the fact that we're willing to share their latest stocks with you without cost or obligation. See Them Free>>
