Atwood Oceanics, Inc.’s subsidiary has agreed to a one-well contract by Kosmos Energy Ventures at an undisclosed day rate.
The ultra-deepwater rig, the Atwood Achiever, will commence operations offshore Northwest Africa. The operation is expected to begin immediately on the completion of the well in progress under the existing contract. It also includes six one-well priced options.
Consequent to this contract, the earliest estimated availability of the Atwood Achiever is March 2018, presuming that no options are exercised. If all six options were to be exercised, the drilling program would be anticipated to extend until about December 2018.
A leading offshore drilling contractor, Atwood Oceanics, is engaged in the drilling and completion of exploratory and developmental wells for the oil and gas industry worldwide. The company also provides related support, management and consulting services.
