On today’s episode of the Zacks Friday Finish Line, Content Writer Ryan McQueeney and Editor Maddy Johnson prepare listeners for the first busy week of Q3 earnings season with previews of upcoming reports from PayPal (PYPL - Free Report) , United (UAL - Free Report) , and Netflix (NFLX - Free Report) .
Make sure to subscribe and leave the show a rating on iTunes!
Mobile payments giant PayPal (PYPL - Free Report) has soared more than 67% so far this year, and the stock is now resting comfortably near its all-time high. The company has an impressive earnings surprise history, as well as a Zacks Rank#1 (Strong Buy), but with shares at a new peak, PayPal will need to impress next week if it wants to climb higher.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, United (UAL - Free Report) is a Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell). The airliner was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey, as Houston is its second-largest hub. Year-over-year comparisons will be tough, and management has warned of a challenging quarter.
And next week’s most anticipated report is bound to be that of Netflix (NFLX - Free Report) . The video streaming pioneer is looking for strong growth in international revenues and important margin expansion, but investors will be wary of a possible subscriber plateau (also read: Netflix Q3 Earnings Preview: Here's What To Expect).
