Ford Motor Company (F - Free Report) has announced that its plans to introduce a diesel engine enabled F-150 pickup truck through dealerships this spring onward. Last year, the company sold 896,764 F-series trucks compared with 820,000 in 2016.
The F-150 model with 3-liter Ford power stroke V6 diesel engine will be powered by 10-speed transmission in order to attain 30 miles per gallon of highway fuel efficiency. Additionally, the model will have 11,400 pounds of towing capacity and 2,020 pounds of payload capacity.
The diesel version of F-150 is expected at a price between $2,400 and $4,000, higher than a similar gasoline truck.
