It develops, manufactures, distributes and sells tires and related products and services in North, Central and South America. It sells tires to various export markets, primarily through intersegment sales.
Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) (27.9%) is the company’s second-largest segment in terms of revenues. It develops, manufactures, distributes and sells tires for automobiles, trucks, buses, aircraft, motorcycles, and earthmoving, mining and industrial equipment throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It also sells tires to various export markets, primarily through intersegment sales.
The Asia-Pacific (12.4%) segment develops, manufactures, distributes and sells tires for automobiles, trucks, buses, aircraft, farm, and earthmoving, mining and industrial equipment throughout the Asia Pacific region, and sells tires to various export markets, primarily through intersegment sales.
New tires are sold under highly competitive conditions worldwide. Goodyear faces two major global competitors: Bridgestone (Japan) and Michelin (France). Other significant competitors include Continental, Hankook, Kumho, Nexen, Pirelli, Sumitomo, Toyo, Yokohama and various regional tire manufacturers.
