Effective 2023, Oshkosh has begun operating under three segments, Access Equipment, Defense and Vocational. The company formed the Vocational segment by combining the historical Fire & Emergency and Commercial units.
Access Equipment (contributed 51.6% in consolidated net sales in fiscal 2023) operates under the JLG and Jerr-Dan brands. JLG engages in the designing and manufacturing of aerial work platforms and telehandlers that are used for construction, industrial, institutional and general maintenance applications. Jerr-Dan offers tow trucks (wreckers) and roll-back vehicle carriers that cater to towing companies in the United States and abroad.
The Defense (21.7%) unit designs, manufactures and markets military tactical wheeled vehicles. Oshkosh Defense offers a wide range of products, which include severe-duty, heavy- and medium-payload tactical trucks, hauling tanks, missile systems, ammunition, fuel, troops and cargo for combat units. This segment consists of Oshkosh Defense, Pratt Miller and snow removal vehicles for military and civilian airports.
The Vocational (26.7%) segment comprises several key entities, namely Pierce, Airport Products, Maxi-Metal, Kewaunee, McNeilus, IMT, and Oshkosh Commercial. Within this segment, the business units of Pierce, Airport Products, Maxi-Metal, and Kewaunee specialize in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of commercial and custom fire apparatus, simulators, and emergency response solutions. McNeilus is dedicated to the design, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of refuse collection vehicles and related components. IMT focuses on designing and manufacturing field service vehicles and truck-mounted cranes tailored for niche markets. Oshkosh Commercial specializes in the design, manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of front discharge concrete mixer vehicles and components.
