3 Top Ranked Stocks Gaining Despite Market Turmoil

A confluence of market developments has come to a head this week, triggering a sharp bout of selling across some of the market's more speculative segments.

AI stocks, semiconductors, neoclouds and space-related companies among others, have been among the hardest hit, dragging the major indexes lower as investors rotate capital into more defensive sectors.

Rising interest rates, a hotter-than-expected inflation report, concerns over increasingly risky debt financing in the AI infrastructure space, particularly surrounding CoreWeave ((CRWV - Free Report) ), and escalating tensions in the Middle East have all contributed to the recent volatility.

Together, these developments have reignited concerns about the sustainability of the AI boom, while raising broader questions about inflation, monetary policy and the economic outlook.

During periods like these, the Zacks Rank can be an especially valuable tool for cutting through the headline noise and identifying stocks with improving earnings prospects, regardless of the prevailing market narrative.

Cinemark ((CNK - Free Report) ), Oscar Health ((OSCR - Free Report) ) and Heico ((HEI - Free Report) ) stand out as three compelling examples. Each boasts a top Zacks Rank, a strong trend in earnings estimate revisions and constructive price action, even as much of the market comes under pressure.

Perhaps most importantly, none of these companies depends on the AI investment boom to drive its growth, offering investors exposure to three distinct opportunities outside the market's dominant theme.

Let's take a closer look.

Cinemark Stock Nears Breakout

Cinemark has staged a phenomenal comeback, benefiting from a resurgence in movie theater attendance, improving pricing power and continued market share gains.

The company's second quarter was particularly impressive, with revenue surpassing $1 billion for the first time in its history. Net income climbed nearly 50% year over year to $141 million, underscoring the strength of the recovery.

Importantly, growth isn't simply coming from more people filling theater seats. Domestic attendance increased 8.7%, while average ticket prices rose 4.2% to $10.83 and concession spending per patron climbed 4.3% to $8.70. That combination of higher volumes, stronger pricing and increased spending per customer is particularly encouraging for profitability.

Cinemark is also outperforming the broader industry, with its domestic box office results exceeding industry benchmarks by more than two percentage points. Internationally, the company outperformed comparable markets by roughly five points, suggesting it is actively gaining market share.

Meanwhile, its movie subscription program has surpassed 1.5 million members, accounting for approximately 30% of domestic box office revenue. That growing base of recurring customers adds another attractive dimension to the business. The industry's potential shift toward longer, 45-day exclusive theatrical release windows could provide an additional structural tailwind.

Not surprisingly, Wall Street has taken notice. Earnings estimates have moved higher across multiple timeframes, earning Cinemark a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy). Despite its impressive recovery, shares trade at a reasonable 15x forward earnings.

From a technical perspective, the setup is equally compelling. Following a strong rally after its latest earnings report, Cinemark shares have spent roughly 10 weeks consolidating in a well-defined trading range. The stock now appears to be approaching a potential breakout, even as the broader market struggles.

A decisive move above resistance could signal the beginning of another leg higher. However, with the next earnings report scheduled for November 4, there is also a possibility that shares remain range-bound until that catalyst arrives.

Either way, Cinemark is one to watch closely.

Shares of Oscar Health Gain on Upgrades

Oscar Health is a fast-growing health insurance company focused primarily on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace, providing coverage to self-employed workers, independent contractors and individuals without employer-sponsored insurance.

The company has built a technology-driven insurance platform designed to improve efficiency and lower operating costs, while positioning itself to benefit from the continued expansion of the individual health insurance market.

Oscar has enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in 2026, transitioning from losses to profitability as membership growth and improving operating efficiency drive a sharp acceleration in earnings.

Second quarter revenue climbed to $4.88 billion, while earnings reached $1.10 per share, crushing analyst expectations. Management has also raised its full-year operating earnings guidance twice, most recently targeting $600 million to $800 million.

That improving outlook has triggered a wave of positive earnings estimate revisions. Over the last 90 days, consensus EPS estimates for 2026 have nearly tripled, rising from $0.59 to $1.83. Meanwhile, 2027 estimates have jumped 86% to $2.22 per share, with analysts continuing to raise their forecasts in recent weeks.

That powerful revisions trend has earned Oscar a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).

The growth outlook is equally impressive. Analysts expect revenue to surge 61% this year to $18.81 billion, followed by another 10% increase to $20.73 billion in 2027. Earnings are projected to climb an additional 21% next year, while management's longer-term targets call for more than 20% annual revenue growth and EPS exceeding $4 by 2029.

Despite these ambitious growth expectations, Oscar trades at just 15.5x next year's earnings, a relatively attractive valuation if the company can deliver on its forecasts.

The stock's momentum has also been exceptional. Shares have rallied nearly 140% year to date and are trading just below their 52-week highs, demonstrating impressive relative strength even as the broader market comes under pressure.

Of course, Oscar remains exposed to healthcare policy changes, insurance claims volatility and the sustainability of its recent profitability improvements. However, with earnings estimates moving sharply higher, a reasonable forward valuation and powerful price momentum, OSCR remains one of the more compelling growth setups in the market.

Heico Represents the Best of Aerospace Stocks

Heico is one of the more impressive businesses in the aerospace and defense industry, with a decades-long track record of exceptional growth, disciplined acquisitions and consistent execution.

The Florida-based company manufactures replacement parts for commercial aircraft, along with specialized electronic components used across the defense, aerospace and industrial markets. Its business model is particularly attractive, combining high-margin aftermarket aircraft parts with a steady stream of strategic acquisitions.

Aerospace and defense represent another powerful secular growth theme, supported by expanding commercial air travel, aging aircraft fleets and rising global defense spending. Unlike some of the more speculative corners of the AI boom, these trends are supported by established demand and long-term spending commitments.

Heico's latest quarterly results demonstrate the strength of its position. Fiscal third-quarter revenue climbed 23% year over year to $1.41 billion, while earnings of $1.67 per share beat analyst expectations by more than 10%.

Even more impressive, organic revenue growth reached 14%, with the balance coming from acquisitions. Operating margins expanded to 25.1% from 23.1% a year earlier, while operating cash flow surged 49% to $345 million.

The combination of strong organic growth, expanding profitability and substantial cash generation speaks to the quality of the underlying business.

Wall Street has responded by raising earnings forecasts. Over the last 90 days, consensus EPS estimates for fiscal 2026 have increased from $5.96 to $6.28, while fiscal 2027 estimates have climbed from $6.77 to $7.18.

That steady improvement has earned HEICO a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).

Looking ahead, analysts expect revenue to grow 20% this fiscal year to $5.38 billion, followed by another 12% increase to $6.03 billion in fiscal 2027. Earnings are projected to climb 28% this year and another 14% next year, while longer-term EPS growth expectations remain near 19% annually.

Valuation remains a consideration, though Heico looks relatively attractive compared to its own history. Shares currently trade at roughly 42x forward earnings, well below their 10-year median of 55x. While that remains a substantial premium to many aerospace and defense peers, Heico’s exceptional track record, consistent execution and durable growth prospects have historically commanded a premium valuation. The recent pullback has therefore created a potentially compelling entry point for long-term investors.

Shares are down roughly 20% from their highs in recent months, despite continued improvements in the company's earnings outlook.

More recently, the stock appears to be establishing a bottom and building a constructive base, with a potential breakout beginning to take shape.

For investors looking for exposure to the aerospace and defense industry, Heico offers an attractive combination of durable secular growth, exceptional business quality and improving earnings estimates. The valuation warrants some caution, but the emerging technical setup suggests the recent correction may be approaching its conclusion.

Should Investors Buy Shares in HEI, CNK and OSCR

While market volatility has picked up, opportunities remain for investors willing to look beyond the most crowded trades.

Cinemark, Oscar Health and HEICO demonstrate that strong earnings momentum and compelling investment opportunities can be found across very different corners of the market. Each benefits from its own fundamental growth drivers, improving earnings estimates and constructive technical setups.

That doesn't make them immune to broader market weakness, but their relative strength is encouraging. As investors reassess some of the market's dominant themes, these three Zacks Rank #1 stocks deserve a closer look.
